Provenance Private placement. Consigned by the estate of a USA military serviceman in Japan late 1940's.
Image Size Painting size: 10 3/4 x 45 1/2.
Technique Painting itself is of blues, greens, tans, red, and black "sumi" colors on light tan silk.
Mounting Size Entire "kakejiku" (hanging scroll) is 15 1/8 x 74 1/2 overall.
Mounting Details Light tanish silk (artwork) mounted on deep green geometrically-patterned silk; light tan silk top and bottom; gold flower-patterned tan silk "ichimonji" brocade top/bottom; gold-patterned cream colored silk hanging "futai" at top; BONE end-pieced bottom roller.
Condition Very Good.
(Few tiny scattered marks; light wear.) Hangs quite nicely.
