Impression Very Fine. Deeply saturated colors; skillfully executed "bokashi" shading to sky, trees, and clouds; light "gauffrage" to tree and full moon; nicely detailed carving.
Condition Excellent. Excellent colors. Very clean front and verso. (Light toning; otherwise flawless.) All prints within this 1947 collection have never been displayed -- stored flat past 71 years.
Reference/Illus Narazaki #319; Hotei #244.
Comments Beautiful moonlit scene done almost entirely as an "aizuri"
(shades of blue) print. One of Hasui's most popular images. Always gorgeous -- becomeing hard-to-find.
From a 1947 Tokyo Japan military collection. Nice!!
