| Impression |
Very Fine. Superbly executed "bokashi" shading throughout;
deep "gauffrage" (embossing) to cat's hair; baren "sujizuri" (circular trackings) to
background; nicely visible "woodgrain" bottom; crisp lines, highly detailed carving. |
| Condition |
Nearly Excellent. Excellent colors. Full, original margins.
(Slight wrinkle lower/left corner; light glue residue verso from original folder
mounting; light toning.) A uncirculated print--never framed.

| Reference/Illus |
"Crow, Cranes, and Camellias" pl# H-41.1. |
| Comments |
A dramatic image of a cat capturing a fleeing mouse--scattered
matches and paper lantern astray. One of only 20 Koson
print designs published by K&S--all "full-oban" format.
A RARELY seen print.
