| Impression |
Very Fine. Skillfully executed "bokashi" (gradation of colors) shading to face and yellow of umbrella;
boldly printed "baren sujizuri" circles to umbrella's underside; light "gauffrage" to hair-covering,
umbrella, and rain; highly detailed carving. |
| Condition |
Nearly Excellent. Very good colors. (Slight toning; bumped lower/right corner--
otherwise flawless.) |

"The Female Image," Plate #173; Blair's 1936 "Toledo Exhibition," Plate #131. |
| Comments |
One of Kotondo's finest "bijin-ga" images. Lifetime total 21 images (most 1927-34).
