Impression |
Very Fine. Wonderfully executed "bokashi" shading; lightly "gauffraged" (embossed) snow; "gofun" snow
over-printed onto blue; very detailed carving; crisp lines. |
Condition |
Nearly Excellent. Excellent colors. Clean front and verso. (Crease upper/left margin corner; slight wear--otherwise
flawless.) A few scattered "natural paper fiber" irregularities (normal for early 1930's paper). Old pre-War
"dealer's sticker" verso. |
Reference/Illus |
Blair's 1936 "Toldedo Exhibition" pl. #289. |
Comments |
A classic "shin hanga" print of the Toledo Exhibition. (Lacks "first edition verso seal"--but
very early. Sato Shotaro ceased business in 1931.) Red "collector's seal" right margin. Not often seen. |
