||TOMIOKA, Eisen (1864-1905)
||Original Painting on Silk -- #C
("Yakumo no Chigiri")
(A subsequent woodblock series was produced 1899.)
||10 1/2 x 14 1/2 (LARGE, compare to "koban-sized" print.)
||Very Fine. Superbly executed by hand and extremely detailed. An original (one-of-a-kind) shunga design
executed in sumi and color pigments on fine, pliable silk.
||Nearly Excellent. Strong colors. (Very slight wear; few edge-strands of loose silk.)
||A rare and original painting by Tomioka Eisen--known for both his "kuchi-e" illustrations and high quality
"shunga" designs. From an album of 12 original paintings on silk which preceeded the publication of a 12 woodblock
print album (titled "Poetic Intercourse") subsequently published in 1899.
