||Late-Meiji to Taisho period, ca1890's/1920's (painting may be older and re-mounted?).
||Painting size: 12 1/4 x 50.
||Painting itself is of black, grey, and soft purple "sumi" inks on tan paper.
||Entire "kakejiku" (hanging scroll) is 16 3/4 x 76 overall.
||Tanish paper (artwork) mounted on tan silk, offset by narrow green border; silver-patterned
cream-colored silk "ichimonji" brocade top/bottom; BONE end-pieced bottom roller.
(Area of minor wear top right paper; few scattered marks/light soiling. Overall quite clean. Couple of moderate wrinkles--but hangs nicely.)
||A wonderfully composed "sumi-e" painting of late-summer grapes still on the vine--nicely mounted as a hanging
scroll. A unique, truly one-of-a-kind artwork.
