||"Tiger Under Full Moon"
||Mid-Meiji period, ca1870-1890.
||Painting size: 15 3/4 x 46 1/4.
||Painting itself is black and grey sumi on light tan silk--exquisitely rendered.
||Entire "kakejiku" (hanging scroll) is 20 1/2 x 76 3/4 overall.
||Light tanish silk (artwork) mounted against olive/brownish silk; brown flower-patterned tan silk "ichimonji" brocade top/bottom;
BONE end-pieced bottom roller.
||Very Good to Nearly Excellent.
(Non-obtrusive, faint water stain lower right corner and top/left "ichimonji";
few tiny scattered spots; light wear. Quite clean. Largely wrinkle-free, hangs nicely.)
||A beautifully hand-painted artwork, with tiger walking through bamboo under a full moon--nicely mounted as a hanging
scroll. Exceptional. A unique, truly one-of-a-kind artwork.
