||"Sun and Waves"
||Early to mid-Showa period, ca1930/40's.
||Painting size: 12 3/4 x 51.
||Painting itself is of grey, black, red, and blue "sumi" colors on light tan paper.
||Entire "kakejiku" (hanging scroll) is 18 x 81 1/2 overall.
||Light tanish paper (artwork) mounted on medium blue silk; different light blue/green silk top and bottom;
gold-patterned cream colored silk
"ichimonji" brocade top/bottom; gold-patterned cream colored silk hanging "futai" at top;
BONE end-pieced bottom roller.
(Few tiny marks; two tiny holes top and some wear; soiling to bottom roller--otherwise quite clean. Some wrinkling, but hangs nicely.)
||Attractively painted image of an orange-red sun over a breaking "finger-wave"--nicely mounted as a hanging
scroll. A unique, truly one-of-a-kind artwork.
